Presentation Training for your Team Day

For your next Team Hui, Away Day or Leadership Workshop, we can run a practical, fun and useful session on presentation skills that the whole team will find valuable.

We have a range of sessions available. All of these can be adjusted based on levels of experience and time available.

1. How to plan a presentation

How long?  3 – 4 hours

What is it? It can be hard to design a presentation if you’ve never been shown an effective method. We’ve been teaching people at all levels of presenting experience how to plan a presentation for over a decade and over that time we’ve developed and fine-tuned our SpeakerMap™ system.

What will you learn?

  • The easy step-by-step process that even experienced presenters find a revelation
  • How to stop spinning your wheels and get your presentation planned in less time than you thought possible (one of our participants got up in the middle of the night and planned her presentation in 15 minutes!)
  • How to come across as an expert without overloading your audience with information
  • The secret to engaging your audience that anyone can master.

What our clients say:

The entire team was really engaged. One said afterwards “that was the best team course I have ever done”.
Manager, Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, May 2019

2. How to stop presenting. And start talking.

How long? 45 mins – 1 hour

What is it? A fun and interactive session that will help your team deliver presentations in a natural and authentic way.

What will you learn?

  • How to stop presenting in an unnatural, stiff and uncomfortable way.
  • How to speak at your normal fast pace – and still be clear and understandable
  • The simple answer to ‘what should I do with my hands?
  • How to be engaging and dynamic – without coming across as artificial.
  • The one way to demonstrate your credibility
  • How to instantly get rid of ums and ahs.

What our clients say
:

I felt like it was relevant to all of our staff, which is great. In the past we have had presenters come in and the content was not so relevant to some people. But Jane made it relevant to everyone in attendance.
Tessa Ambler, Practice Manager, Wotton Kearney, May 2019

3. How to transform yourself from a shaking wreck to a confident presenter.

How long?   1 hour

What is is? Presenting is scary. We get it. This thought-provoking and valuable session (designed by psychologist Tony Burns) uses proven principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help even the most nervous of presenters.

What will you learn?

  • The two different causes of your fear – the one you can eliminate and the one you can’t
  • How to identify and neutralise your specific anxiety triggers to reduce your fear
  • The stress-performance curve and how to exploit it to perform at your best
  • How to recover from a mind-blank in milliseconds
  • The truth behind “Fake it till you make it” and how to use it to your advantage.
  • How to reframe your attitude to presenting in a way that will make you feel and sound more confident and natural

What our clients say:

“Excellent – it’s given me a lot more confidence to do presentations. It has put nerves in their place.”
Karen Mosby, Project Manager, Opus International
