In-house Presentation Courses

We provide a range of in-house presentation courses which are fully customisable to the specific needs of your business. We travel all over the country (and outside of New Zealand if necessary) so the training course can be run in a location convenient to you.

The information provided here is designed to give you an idea of what we can do for you. Once you are ready to go ahead we will talk with you further about your needs and what you would like to achieve from the training.

Our in-house courses are generally one or two days in length. In most situations we recommend a two-day course as it allows:

Here are examples of course outlines for a one-day course and a two-day course.

Number of participants

One-day Course
The maximum number of participants for the one-day course is eight. The course can be run effectively with four to six participants and this gives each participant an increased level of one-on-one attention and coaching.

Two-day Course
The maximum number of participants on a two-day course is twelve. Where there are nine or more participants we split the group into two for the second day and run the second day twice with up to six participants in each group. This ensures that each participant gets significant one-on-one coaching.

What you get at no Extra Charge

Customisation of Course

We will customise the course to the needs of your business. We never lose site that presentations should contribute to directly to your business or organisation, whether that be in the form of greater sales or better decision-making.

Training Needs Analysis

An online training needs analysis (TNA) before the course so that we can tailor the course to the individual needs of the participants. For an example of the TNA see: www.effectivespeaking.co.nz/generic-tna.html

Two Expert Trainers

Two trainers, Olivia Mitchell and Tony Burns - this means that we can provide individual coaching and advice for each participant throughout the course

Comprehensive Workbook

Each participant will receive a copy of our 60-page Presentation Skills Workbook “How to design and deliver a presentation with confidence”. The workbook is used throughout the course and is also a valuable reference tool for the future.

All Hi-tech Equipment Required

We provide all the hi-tech equipment we need so you don’t need to worry about logistics or extra expenses. This includes laptop computer, datashow projector, video recording and replay equipment.

Advice whenever you need it

Having attended one of our courses, participants can ring or e-mail us at any time afterwards for presentation-related advice, whether it’s ideas for a new presentation they’re developing, a review of PowerPoint slides or a confidence boost. This is an ongoing free service.

Further training opportunities

We run regular Presentation Coaching Clinics for previous course participants and coaching clients. The Clinics provide speaking opportunities, coaching and other presentation-related exercises and activities. Participants use the Clinics to refresh, practice and fine-tune the skills they learned when working with us. The Coaching Clinics take place quarterly and are held from 5.30 - 7.30 pm in central Wellington.  The Presentation Coaching Clinic is for Effective Speaking clients only and is not a public course. Participants can attend as often as they wish at no cost.
