Design For Results
The Problem
Designing a successful presentation is a challenging task. We want to do well so we get trapped into spending hours researching our material and creating fabulous visuals – or conversely, the thought of sitting down and writing the presentation is so daunting that we put it off and end up “winging” it. Either way, the results can be disastrous:
  • a rambling speech with no discernible structure or purpose
  • a restless, confused and frustrated audience
  • a nervous presenter who realises that they are “bombing”
  • a presentation that completely fails to achieve its purpose.

What’s required is a design process that focusses on the audience’s interests and expectations – not just the needs of the presenter.

The Solution
Design for Results is a half-day workshop that will give you a quick, easy and repeatable system for preparing a presentation which achieves the results you want and meets the needs of your audience. You’ll learn:

  • how to analyse the needs of your audience (using a checklist that you get to keep)
  • the vital difference between the presenter’s purpose and audience results
  • seven structures for creating a talk
  • ten ways to make your presentation come alive
  • how to actively involve the audience in your presentation
  • how to use WII-FM’s to persuade your audience.

The Benefits
When you complete this workshop you’ll be familiar with a process that you can use to easily design a presentation that:

  • has clear and memorable key messages
  • doesn’t take hours of preparation time
  • keeps your audience interested and involved
  • gives your audience real value
  • will achieve the results you want.
