Tony
Burns
Tony Burns is the principal trainer of Effective
Speaking. He is a specialist coach and trainer
in public speaking and presentation skills and
regularly coaches senior executives and specialists
to improve their presenting skills.
- BA (Psychology) and Primary Certificate in
Rational
Emotive Behaviour Therapy. Tony specialises
in helping clients overcome the nervousness
and anxiety so common in public speaking using
this methodology adapted from therapeutic psychology.

Past professional career as music producer
working with professional performers. Tony
uses the skills learnt during his time working
with professional performers in coaching business
people to improve their presentation performance.

Twice winner of the Toastmasters New Zealand
Speech Evaluation competition. The Toastmasters
Evaluation competition involves judging competitors
on the their ability to coach others to improve
their speaking performance. Having retired
from this competition, Tony coached the
two subsequent winners including Kim Chamberlain of Successful Speaking (now living in Uganda).

Olivia
Mitchell
Olivia Mitchell is a Senior Trainer for Effective Speaking.
Olivia has a legal background and experience
in training for both public sector and private
sector organisations. As a management consultant
for a major bank she trained branch managers in
presentation skills, leadership skills, HR procedures
and recruitment. As a manager for a large city
council she trained managers and policy analysts
in public consultation skills and running public
meetings.
She is author of "How to present with Twitter (and other backchannels)" and her presentation blog, Speaking about Presenting is regularly ranked in Alltop's top five.
